President Obama last Friday commuted the sentences imposed in 42 federal drug cases. The Washington Post reports: Utah Man Whose Long Drug Sentence Stirred Controversy Is Released.
Federal drug laws, as I've written in numerous prior posts, require reform, as sentences dictated in some cases are all out of proportion, counter-productive and unjustifiable. Not all but some. President Obama has commuted more sentences than the previous seven Presidents combined. Good for him.
