One does not have to admire former Virginia Governor Robert McDonnell or former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman to be concerned about the continuing and expanding criminalization of politics through the auspices of the Department of Justice. The Supreme Court may be ready to halt or check this trend, at least based on the reports of the oral argument at SCOTUSBlog: Anti-Corruption Law in Trouble?
